Job REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; and,
  • CPA designation can be considered as an asset.

Security Clearance:

  • Must be eligible to obtain the Government of Canada’s Reliability Status Clearance level; and,
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast and complex environment, experience in project planning and analysis, risk management and project management;
  • International accounting knowledge (IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE) and FX management experience; and,
  • Experience in managing multiple, cross-functional systems development projects that span multiple years.

Essential Skills:

  • Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written);
  • Ability to communicate and train nonfinancial staff in complex financial models Excellent written and oral communication skills are required;
  • Expert knowledge of integrated financial systems, business processes and management systems, and familiarity with business intelligence tools;
  • Ability to research information and develop a solution and/or recommendation;
  • Financial modelling related to multi-year projects, or other large-scale and complex situations;
  • Autonomous person with demonstrated skills in planification and time management; and,
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge required, with VBA coding considered an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support to project teams on complex analysis, such as bid scoring, risk analysis, cash flow and template design;
  • Validate project monthly closure by reviewing and posting project related entries;
  • Support business development by creating financial models for bids;
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports;
  • Conduct monthly reviews on the project’s earnings and expenditures;
  • Review sub-contractors and consultants’ agreements and compensation rates, and determine overhead rates;
  • Develop and maintain written project policies and procedures;
  • Contribute to project planning and support (financial and technical) as required;
  • Perform variance analysis, KPI reviews and other analytical tasks;
  • Prepare fixed assets continuity schedule, other various monthly reconciliations and journal entries;
  • Ad-hoc analysis, including foreign exchange entries, and exposure analysis;
  • Participate in special projects with the objective of continuous improvement in operational efficiency and reporting, eliminating no-value-added activities;
  • Participate in and support the budget and forecast preparation;
  • Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions;
  • Work on the implementation of a variety of projects as needed; and,
  • Multi-site support and ability to work from other offices as requested.
