Building Democracy Assistance 'Back Better' Post COVID-19

Date of the event

Event Invitation

Wednesday, May 12 from 1-2:30pm EST

Dear Colleagues,

The Parliamentary Centre is excited to announce Global Democracy Dialogues, a new initiative to stimulate crucial conversations on the biggest challenges facing democracy and international democracy assistance.

We are launching Global Democracy Dialogues with a new U.S.-Canada Virtual Speakers Series which will explore timely and critical issues related to advancing international democracy assistance. Supported by the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, the initiative offers a series of 13 expert discussions between Americans and Canadians specialized in democratic development.

Join us for our first event, Building Democracy Assistance ‘Back Better’ Post-COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 12 from 1-2:30pm EST, featuring Sarah Repucci (Freedom House), Thomas Carothers (Carnegie Endowment for International Peace), Jennifer M. Piscopo (Occidental College) and Christopher Sands (The Wilson Center).  This discussion will explore the profound impacts of COVID-19 on democracy and probe the question, "How should democracy assistance actors adapt their post-pandemic approaches accordingly?”

Register here and visit the Global Democracy Dialogue website to learn more!

Warm regards,
Tom Cormier (CEO),
Gabrielle Bardall (Associate),
and the team at the Parliamentary Centre
