The appointment process for multiple Governor positions on the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Board of Governors was launched on October 24th, 2017 on the GIC appointments process website. Context:

You may be aware that the Privy Council revised the process for all Order-in-Council appointments. The new approach seeks to support an open, transparent, and merit-based selection process – one that will result in the recommendation of high-quality candidates who achieve gender parity and truly reflect Canada’s diversity. IDRC:

IDRC is a crown corporation that is accountable to the Parliament of Canada, reporting through the Minister of International Development and La Francophonie. The Centre’s core mission is to support Canada’s global affairs and development efforts and to strengthen international development research. IDRC is one of the world’s leading institutions in the generation and application of new and innovative research to meet the challenges and opportunities facing developing countries. It provides institutional support and funds researchers, building capacities of developing countries to help address the priorities they identify as crucial to their societies.
