Senior Project Manager, Global Network of Women Legislators in Defence, Security and Peace Portfolios (WLID)

Location: Ottawa, Canada (hybrid and onsite at the Canadian Parliamentary Centre’s HQ)
Immediate Supervisor: President and CEO

Language proficiency: English is mandatory; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a strong asset

Salary:  $ 85,000 to $ 95,000

The Parliamentary Centre serves as the Secretariat for the recently established Global Network of Women Legislators in Defence, Security, and Peace Portfolios (WLID). WLID connects women legislators in defence, security, and peace portfolios for peer support and collaboration to address barriers to increased representation and meaningful participation of elected women in security portfolios, conflict prevention, and conflict resolution. The Centre anticipates implementing a five-month pilot program that will expand the network membership, establish a governance structure, identify priorities, develop a corresponding two-year work plan, and set up critical tools and processes for an effective, sustainable, and functional network.

Under the direct supervision of the President and the CEO, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the WLID Secretariat pilot program in line with funder agreements and other requirements, ensuring the project meets its objectives, targets, budgets, and timelines, with appropriate reporting and evaluation.

We are recruiting for this 5-month contract on an anticipatory basis subject to project funding approval.

The project may evolve into a multi-year full-time contract with a sector-leading benefits package that includes the Public Service Pension Plan and Public Service medical and dental benefits.
