Alinea is currently recruiting a Team leader / Senior criminal justice reform expert for the European Commission-funded project, Support to Criminal Justice Reform in Ethiopia.
 
The purpose of this project is to support the Government of Ethiopia in its efforts to reform the criminal justice system through the provision of ongoing technical assistance, advice and support to key institutions involved in the reforms and to ensure increased access to justice for all.
 
Qualifications and skills 
• Post-graduate degree in law. 
 
General professional experience 
• At least 10 years' experience in criminal justice / justice sector reform. 
• Experience in European Commission aid delivery methods and at least five years' experience in implementation of European Development Fund projects/programs. 
• Minimum of three years' experience as Team Leader in similar assignments. 
• Experience in sub-Saharan Africa is a requirement. Specific experience in Ethiopia would be considered an advantage. 
 
Specific professional experience 
• Previous experience in the practice of law, as a judicial officer, prosecutor or as a senior member of a police or prison service is required. Specific experience in the aforementioned in Sub-Saharan Africa will be an advantage. 
• Practical experience in designing and delivering capacity development activities for members of the criminal justice system. 
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and designing development programmes with a gender and rights-based approach, notably in the field of governance, rule of law, access to justice and/or legal aid. 
• Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, project management, financial management, and monitoring and reporting. 
• Experience in legal research and/or drafting will be an advantage.
