SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Cowater International is looking for a dynamic individual to lead one of our key practice lines which seeks to strengthen governance and public sector administration systems worldwide. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals located across our offices (Ottawa, Montreal, London, and Nairobi) with responsibility for implementing development projects across the globe. Projects cover a wide range of technical areas including customs and revenue administration reform in Ethiopia and Somalia; public sector audit and accountability in Mali; budget system reform in Algeria, ethics and accountability in South Africa, and financial information management systems in Bahamas, among many others. 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a senior leader, the Vice President combines technical and management skills with a passion for international development. Applying an entrepreneurial drive, the Vice President is responsible for business development and growth of the service line along with senior level project direction and support. 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Experience:

  • Deep experience in development project management and implementation
  • Experience with a range of development actors and donors (Canada’s Global Affairs, the UK’s FCDO, Australia’s DFAT, etc.)
  • Demonstrated senior level leadership and management experience

Essential Skills:

  • A creative and visionary mindset to drive business growth
  • A passion for international development
  • A range of technical and management skills applicable to our service lines

Language Proficiency: Working proficiency in English and French. Any additional languages would be considered an asset.

Location: Ideally the candidate would be located in one of our Corporate hubs, but the location is flexible depending on the candidate.
