Objective: The presentation will focus on what it takes to be a consultant and how to get jobs. This will be followed by a Q & A to address what the clients’ wants/needs – it will include findings from research and many sources. 
Notes: CAIDP launched the on-line Quiz “So you want to be an international development consultant” on its website in 2013. More than 250 people from all over the world have taken the quiz. One CAIDP member, Jennifer Rosenthal says it helped her start her business.

Biography:

Mr. Hendricks is President and CEO of Hendricks & Associates launched his consulting firm in early 1998. Before establishing his firm, he had been employed as Director, International Development for the Canadian Co-operative Association, and has worked for the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation and the City of Edmonton.
 
Mr. Hendricks has successfully completed contracts with private firms, ADB, AusAID, CIDA, DFID, FSDT Tanzania, FinMark Trust, UNDP, USAID, WB and NGOs in Asia, Africa, Americas and Canada.
 
Mr. Hendricks has visited/ worked in 44 countries including the equivalent of 2+ years in China and over 3 years in Afghanistan.
 
Mr. Hendricks has written an article titled “So You Want to be an International Development Consultant” which is available on the CAIDP website along with a quiz.
