Senior Program Manager, Cross Cutting Services (Evaluation, Gender and Environment)

The Senior Program Manager – Cross Cutting Services (CCS) will have primary responsibility for managing the day to day operation of a large and complex portfolio of cross cutting support services. This new position will work closely with the CCS team members in planning and implementing leading edge support services with a focus on the introduction of enhanced/new approaches and the utilization of an appropriate mix of methodologies, along with information technology and automated data collection systems. This position will be based in Waterloo, Ontario Canada and the anticipated start date is July 2015.

Qualifications:

  • University degree, ideally at a Masters’ level in international development, economic development, gender studies, or related field or an equivalency acquired through formal education, work experience and self-learning
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in senior support services program management with a strong understanding of cross cutting practices
  • Demonstrated staff management experience
  • Excellent computer skills and demonstrated aptitude at integrating information technology and automated data collection systems into programming
  • Proven technical expertise and experience in measurement and evaluation and gender programming including analysis/assessment, developing/implementing strategies, developing tools and conducting training
  • Experience with/knowledge of innovative impact assessment approaches such as randomized control trials, rapid assessment, participatory evaluation, etc.
  • Strong team building, relational, interpersonal, analytical and communication abilities and skills
  • Creative, entrepreneurial and resourceful approach to developing and implementing innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in and with a wide range of cultures and in varying international locales. Proven ability to work effectively in a fluid and dynamic environment and to adopt to new challenges
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is an asset
