Managing for Sustainable Results and COVID-19

Submitted by nicko2 on 20 mai 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic poses the single largest short-term challenge to global development in several decades. Its short-term effects are disrupting the capacity of development co-operation to help partner countries prepare, address, and overcome this health and socio-economic threat. Recent gains in development results are at risk of being undone, and the capacity to monitor them will also be greatly affected. The OECD-DAC Results in Development Cooperation Group has published a policy brief and technical report to help development cooperation actors during the current pandemic.

The policy brief teargets Heads of Programming and is intended to help development co-operation providers and their partners reflect on measures and options being considered by peers to maintain (or adapt) results-based approaches during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The policy brief draws on a more detailed technical report targeting Results units more specifically – and developed thanks to your many contributions and commentary. The detailed technical report, entitled “Managing for sustainable results in development co-operation and COVID-19”, will be uploaded on the Results website in the coming days. Again many thanks for all the feedback and comments received which helped us to get to this final version.

Many thanks to all the Canadian professionals who provided feedback and comments.
