On October 10, 2025, at the University of Ottawa, the Group of 78 will host its annual policy conference on the theme of Redefining Development in a Disordered World: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence and Innovative Finance to Reach the Sustainable Development Goals. This hybrid event will feature keynotes from world-class development economists Dani Rodrik and José Antonio Ocampo and a rich program of stimulating panels on the opportunities and risks of AI, new financing strategies, strengthening the SDGs, and reinventing Canadian development policy. The conference is aimed at generating an agenda of action for policy advocacy with the Canadian government and multilateral bodies.
