Position Title:              Program Assistant

Status:                        Part-time (2-3 days a week): August 3-September 11, 2015

Full-time: September 14-24 and October 5-9, 2015

Part-time (2-3 days a week) October 13-23, 2015                                                     

Salary:                                       $20 per hour

Location:                     Ottawa, Ontario

Travel Requirement:  Some travel within Ottawa may be required.

CCA’s Women’s Mentorship Program is an annual month-long training program for women leaders of financial co-operatives in Africa and Asia. The 2015 program will be taking place September 14-October 9. This year is the 15th cohort of the program and 12 women credit union managers will be coming from Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, South Africa and the Gambia. Each participant is assigned to one Canadian credit union for 1 ½ week’s worth of job-shadowing with a general manager as a mentor. Participants will also undertake a 2 ½ week classroom training program on general leadership issues and day-to-day credit union operations. CCA is seeking an energetic Program Assistant to provide support for the 2015 Women’s Mentorship Program.  Based in CCA’s Ottawa headquarters, the successful candidate will work with the Women’s Mentorship Program Manager to provide administrative and logistical support before, during and after the program takes place.

Key Requirements

·      One to three years experience in administrative positions.

·      University degree in a relevant field.

·      Advanced skills in Word, Outlook and Excel.  Working knowledge of power point is helpful.

·      Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

·      Strong initiative and ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

·      Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent deadlines.

·      Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

·      Strong inter-personal and teamwork skills

·      Experience and/or knowledge of co-operatives and international development are an asset.
