RWANDA COUNTRY MANAGER
The Canadian Cooperative Association (www.coopscanada.coop) is seeking applicants for a Country Manager to implement a food security project in Rwanda.
Responsibilities include:
Project implementation
Coordinating donor report development
Monitoring and reporting on the project’s in-country financial management
Preparing for, monitoring, and managing project risks
Delivering relevant agriculture and food security technical assistance
Managing relationships with donors, partners, other NGOs, and other stakeholders, in the field
Managing and evaluating technical assistance volunteers and consultants, while they are in the field
Supervising local staff and managing the field office
Qualifications include:
Demonstrated experience working in international agriculture and food security
Fully bilingual in French and English
Demonstrated competence in international development, project management, financial reporting and control
Proven effectiveness in managing relationships in cross-cultural and complex environments
Ability to work independently and in teams
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to co-operative forms of enterprise
Demonstrated good judgment
University degree in a relevant field, plus 5-7 years experience in implementing and managing development projects
Previous experience in Africa is an asset
Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with experience.
Term: 1 year, with possibility of extension
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is located in Kigali, Rwanda, with some regional travel anticipated.
