GAC contracted Samson Associates to work collaboratively with the Canadian International Development community to prepare the Overseas Assignment Directive (OAD) to replace the old Technical Assistance Handbook (TAH). This was deemed necessary to update directions to Canadian companies with staff living and working overseas implementing GAC contracts to be consistent with the conditions of international development work today.
Engaging the Sector and GAC
Back in the summer of 2021, CAIDP, alongside its sector association peers (Cooperation Canada, CanWACH, Inter- Council Network) engaged Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and launched the Forum on Strategic Issues Coordination, conceptualized as a dialogue space to exchange on strategic issues of common interest towards joint action. A special note of thanks to Nic Moyer for his leadership in its establishment.
The mandate of the CAIDP Programming Committee is to help CAIDP members to remain professionally relevant by providing the knowledge, skills, and tools by preparing and disseminating media content through CAIDP social media channels.

Although a relatively quiet period over the summer months, the External Relations Committee continues to advance on a number of priorities for members and has been participating in a range of meetings with GAC.[AW1][S42]
